Crescent Foundation is a Philadelphia-based, non-profit organization that helps Sickle Cell strivers and allies transcend the disease through free educational resources, community support programs, and access to better health outcomes.

To increase advocacy and support for evidence-based care for patients, families and communities affected by SCD, through collaborative action and innovative initiatives.

Our Purpose

Crescent Foundation supports sickle cell disease survivors, families, and communities with evidence-based research. Crescent Foundation navigates sickle cell disease together with those affected, while rooting ourselves in the following core pillars:

Transparency

Open dialogue is powerful. Crescent shapes its goals and initiatives based on community input, allowing us to address issues, solve problems, and improve lives in real time.

Innovation

Numerous effective treatments and curative therapies are available, with more in development. We strive to understand what’s truly working—and what’s not—by listening to first-hand experiences and championing personal journeys.

Equity

Sickle cell disease (SCD) has been instrumental in driving numerous medical advancements, yet it has not received the same level of attention or resources as other conditions. Our goal is to change that by advocating for SCD awareness, education, research, and expanded treatment options for all who are willing to listen.

Community

Crescent was created to provide a safe place for those living with sickle cell disease to share, grow, find support and be at peace.
